I should really be burned to death by now for not staying true to my words. Last month, I said I’ll blog everything about what happened last December, but I didn’t got the chance. I’m really busy ~~watching HunterXHunter and other movies and anime and…~~ I know this is not the proper way to blog but… I’m such a bad blogger, why am I even blogging? FUUUUUU~ It’s more like a photoblog, let the pictures speak for itself.

All in all, the party was a success, although the venue last year was so much better. But at least, I had so much fun this year, I wasn’t force to participate in any crappy production number and dance like a total idiot unlike before. I was also able to dress nicely.

We also owned the dance floor and do our moves. Jao’s like a total retard when dancing though. HAHAHA.

(yeah, I spelled her name correctly.) My cousin hired me to be their official photographer at their wedding last November 13. So glad that he did ‘coz I love them to bits even though they don’t actually realize this. LOL. I mean, I adore their relationship so much. There’s nothing compare to the history of these two. They are actually childhood sweet hearts. Since the day they met when they were just first graders they like each other right away. Most kids don’t like to be teased with anyone of the opposite sex but these two actually enjoyed it. My mom was their homeroom teacher and was the witness of these so called best-friendship to puppy love to young love and eventually to a serious relationship.

Hi guys~

Late post is late. Super late. I don’t actually plan to post this ‘coz y’know, me, ~~having~~ celebrating a birhtday is not that big of a deal. Pfffft. But my birthday this year is kind of special since I didn’t plan to actually celebrate it. No food, no friends, no partyin’ family members around. All I wanted was to stay at home, lock my self in my room and spend the day sleeping. ‘Coz I rarely do that these days, it’s the best-est present that I can give my self.

But- but… as the day ends, and when I thought I succeeded at spending my day at peace, Saowie called me and told me to go downstairs. So I did, wondering what’s up. (I nearly forgot that it’s actually my birthday). As I’m walking down the stairs I heard tito Pol said “Ang tagal namang bumaba ng araw” LOL wtf? He called me “THE” sun because I’m so white. >_< Anyway, as soon as I emerge from the stairs they started singing “Happy Birthday”. LOL. I didn’t expected that at all. All the family members was there, singing for me. And they handed me my cake. I was so speechless. There are foods and drinks. Many of it. I never knew that that whole day, they are busy preparing for my birthday while I was sleeping all day. These people are so sweet. They’re just my extended family, but they did this for me. SO SWEEEEETTTTT.

I’ve been wanting to organize everything in my life lately. Down from the seemingly insignificant ones up to the most important. Ex. my room, my bookshelf, pictures I’ve taken from the past months, my pending artworks, my accounts (‘coz I’m everywhere in the web, lol), and so far, all I managed to do was to make a very slow progress with it. Every attempts to fix and organize everything up just leads to failure. I lack time. I planned to finish everything last weekend but something came up again. Urgh, I mean, ok, given, we have to celebrate my mom’s birthday all day, all night, no regrets though ‘coz I enjoyed every moment of it. So, I adjusted my schedule, have to do everything on Sunday instead, but my aunt came up with an impulsive idea to go to Enchanted Kingdom with the rest of the family… it’s been fun. EK will always be a fun place to be at. But these constant life-enjoyments live me with things that I need to attend to.

I badly needed time management. Actually, I needed at least extra 3 hours added to our 24 hours. =___= *brb still organizing things up.*

Another Year for You Tita

Hey guys. I'm sorry I haven't posted anything for a week despite the fact that I said I will. But then I have to attend a huge event last Saturday that I wasn't able to touch my blogger. And yes, so excited to tell you about it too. But first I owe you recaps of what has happened to me these past months. (btw, I suffered from dysmenorrhea last Sunday, another reason why I wasn't able to post anything... and yeah, I got busy again after that. T__T)

So last August 29 was one of the fun events that I need to talk about. It's Tita Susan's birthday (for my non-Filipino followers, tita means auntie). She's a rather important person in my current life since I live with her and her family here in the city (I'm originally a country girl). So celebrating her birthday with her and her family is one of the few things I can do to show my gratitude.

Here's the birthday girl. How cute, she even have icing on her face. LOL
They started their drinking session early on that afternoon and it ended pretty late, actually, when I think about it, dawn is already breaking when it ended. Me and Saowie (Saowie is my partner in crime) stayed in our room the whole day but go down at around 8PM. People are getting pretty tipsy at that time already and it's fun watching them. They're really loud but definitely having fun. Tita wishes everybody's happiness, good health, financial stability and happy life for each and everyone of us. She specially mentions me and my parents too. Then she blows the candles.

There are plenty of food laid out in the dining table inside the house. Lola (grandma) is a cook and owns a small eatery so the food is topnotch. However, I wasn't able to snap a photo of each and every dishes 'coz I'm starving, but managed to take a picture of the dishes I ate.

After eating, me and Saowie go back outside to check on them. They're getting really noisy, there's a lot of shouting and laughing going on. Only to found out they are having a mini dance party. Oh god, these old people are drunk. LOL and to think that we, the youngsters should be on their shoes instead. It's really kind of funny. Seeing your guardians so wasted. But they're totally having fun so it's fine. XD I actually have plenty of pictures of the "miracles" that happened that faithful night but I better not disclose it to the internet world as it might spread like wild fire 'coz of its awesomeness. lolwhut

After watching them do their crazy things, I decided to go back to my room and continue working on my manga, I can still hear them though, and I can't help but smile. Moments later Saowie joined me and handed me my camera which i left downstairs. We end up camwhoring. It's been ages since we canwhored together. I missed it. We have about 20 pictures all in all. Most of it are wacky shots. I cannot show it to you guys, 'coz honestly, it's beyond wacky. I wonder how did we manage to look that hideous in those photos? LOL I'm not even exaggerating. NO. I cannot show it to you. So I'll live you with our normal one. Pretty much what we look like at home. :D

I'm back, people! If you've been wondering why I haven't been posting anything, it's because I'm too lazy, joke. No really... I haven't had the will to touch my blogger account for a while, mainly because I've been too busy with a lot of things and I haven't posted anything despite the fact that so much had happened in my life this past 2 months that I've been inactive here. I feel so left behind and that I had the tendency to completely ignore my blogger. And I felt really bad about it since I kept on gaining followers despite my inactivity. Most especially, I value the people who stick with this blog from the very beginning and haven't left me ever since. I really really appreciate it guys.

Anyway, another thing that cause me to be inactive is because I've also been too busy being my frustrated-artist self. I've been making a lot of artworks lately, thus I've been active in Deviant Art and Pixiv. Making an Illustration takes a lot of my time, actually it took all my rest time after work, and my free days. Yes, it's been ages since I go out with my friends.

I'll post some of my very few but fun adventures from the past 2 months this coming weekend, so watch out for it. Let's see... I attend the best concert of the year so far, YAY for All Time Low; I celebrate my fun fun birthday with family, and lastly, how I spent my long Halloween weekend in the province.

My Manga Work-In-Progress

Hello guys… as you have noticed, I haven’t posted any personal posts here in blogger these past weeks mainly because I’m currently doing my manga…. that, plus the fact that I’m terribly busy with my life. I think that I am too slow to finish a chapter. But I can’t help it. I am outside 9 hours a day, and the only time I can do my manga is when I get home. I spend 4 hours doing only at least 2 pages of it. Yes, I roughly spend more than an hour in just one page, depending on its content. But when the page has simple drawings in it, less than an hour will do. You see, I did my manga traditionally, and I spend time inking and semi-toning it using my trusty unipins only.

I was torn between doing it digitally or traditionally at first but decided on the latter. I’ve browse different sites which hosts different manga titles from an amateur to professional mangakas. And I cannot get out of this itching feeling that the traditionally-made manga is more appealing than digital ones. Almost all of my idol-mangakas did it traditionally and just later enhance it digitally. there is something about those ink on a rough paper that you can actually hold.

Plus, another reason why I did this traditionally is because of my precious “time”. I am a very busy person and I almost don’t have time for my self, friends and family (my social life… gone). If I decided to do it digitally the only time that I can work is when I am inside the house. Which is a no-no. Since I’m just squeezing it in my free time (which is actually ironic because it took all my time going home to my family in the province every weekends)… I have to take advantage of every opportunity that I can lay my hands on my WIP-manga. So basically, yes, whenever I am, whatever the time is, if it’s a free time, you’ll see me doing my manga. LOL. I have this feeling that I already look like an addict.

Anyway guys… so far so good. Here’s some pictures of the manga pages that I have scanned last night. Still need to put texts and some effects digitally though.

P.S. Because I cannot sleep without perfecting the tones and the tiniest details on every page of my manga, I’m going too slow. I’m obsessive compulsive when it comes to doing a manga, everything have too look good in my eyes! This is not good anymore, I swear it’ll be the death of me. So I postponed the launching of it. I’m almost done, just adding some finishing touches… I can actually upload it tonight already (at smackjeeves.com), but it’s my birthday on tomorrow… so, launching it on my birthday will be far more special. (plus I’ll have an excuse to ask you guys to read it as a gift for me. bwahahaha )

My Dilemma: Of Manga, Art, and Nationality.

Err... actually, I kind of realize this already and decided to believe and do the things that makes me happy instead of thinking and making thinks complicated, so this post is actually just to state my opinion and I don't really need any advice, well, scratch that, it's ok if you wanna comment to state your opinion regarding the matter but be informed that it'll not affect what I think anymore (yes, I'm so sure of myself regarding this matter), not that I'm close-minded, 'coz I'm not.. urruuu~ I just refuse to do the things I don't wanna do, I decided to do things my way 'coz it makes me happy, and in the first place I decided to do this to make me happy so why be bothered?

Anyway... like what I said in my latest deviations in my Deviant Art Account, I'm plotting a new manga (I actually started working on it yesterday)... and the setting is here in the Philippines, therefore the characters are filipinos. And the problem, well, actually not a problem anymore, but I do admit that it bothered me before... anyway the thing that bothered me (note the -ed in the end of 'bother' it is past tense, so I mainly resolve this) is that I can't seem to make them look like Filipinos, well except for the clothes, 'coz they are wearing our national costume, because the setting will be the 19th century Philippines.

Ohhh... I'm gonna quote myself, I told a friend about this before, sorry for being a lazy ass, but I'm just gonna copy paste this from one of my comments.

Ok so someone told me that my character have to look more filipino, 'coz incidentally he looks like some j-pop idol. LOL, but I take no offense, 'coz seriously, I think so too. couldn't agree more... but err... it bothers me... anyway... here's my reply:

"That's the problem. Saowie (my supergirlfriend and partner in life, lol) told me that he looks like a Samurai of sort. He looks japanese. But what the hell? I can't draw a handsome and sexy guy without it being deemed as samurai/japanese? Why? because animu came from Japan? LOL They don't even have large eyes, yet society never had a problem with japanese character having beautifully big eyes, so why can't I make my pinoy OC as beautiful as the heroes in japanese anime? Honestly, i don't want him with dark skin, flat nose and a boring hair cut. I want him to look good. And this is what looks good in me. Fair skin, angst-y face, long haired guy. I know that Pinoy gentlemen from back then keep their hair short and clean, but who says he's a gentlemen of the standard social norm? LOL, he doesn't abide to anyone's rule or standard. Oh, you have yet to read my manga.
(lol, another thing about japanese heroes/samurai of historical manga, THEY ARE BALD!!! Yet japanese animators/character designer draw them with long hair and long bangs... they do as they please and what will make the character look good, so, I'll do as I please too.)"

Hahaha~ I sample samurais because really, this thing bothers me! haha. It's a perfect example of what I'm trying to say. Japanese are well aware that people in real life are not that pretty, I mean, they cannot make them look bishounen if they have bald hair and thin slice eyes right? So they opted to give them long hair and wide eyes. And that's what I'm doing, I have to make my character look good too, nevermind if that's not the norm before (in terms of physical aspect).

Quoting myself again.

"I asserted my self already, and realized that i don't have any choice but to do things my way if I want to please my self too (in terms of character appearance ha) because this supposed-ly "pinoy look", which I don't have any idea on what actually it is (other than being dark skinned and pango) to begin with don't really please my eyes and passed to my standards of a beautiful character. lol"

And sooo... I decided to draw them the way I wanted to.

But then, another problem came up. The problem daw is that my supposedly "filipino manga" is too japan-esque and that I have to come up with a style that will depict and show more filipino feel to it. Oh nooo... don't make things too complicated guys. So what am I supposed to do? Create a manga with these filipino style? So my manga will look like some kind of "Pugad baboy" or kind of "Zsazsa Zaturna" style in terms of drawing? Not that there's wrong with that, it's actually wonderful, but what I'm trying to say is... guys, I'm going to make a manga. And yes, I'm doing it the way how Japanese draws, with those beautiful girls and boys. Because in the first place, this is what I really want. It's just a style guys! OK? It's just a style. And I love anime style art. My manga being in the anime style will not be a hinder to it being a Filipino made, and the characters being Filipinos, 'coz really, I'm going to say again 'coz I can never stress this enough, it's just a style and I love this style.

I have my own style in art, well atleast when I'm painting in canvass and designing things. But I choose to do this manga in a way that will make me happy and satisfied (that is "anime-style"). I'm not actually bothered if it'll be mistaken as Japanese made, 'coz honestly, if someone mistakes it to be Japanese, I will take it as a compliment, that means that I'm a bit good as them. And quiet frankly I like their art better than ours. So does this make me less-filipino? I think not. I just have my own taste and opinion.

Maybe someday, I'll came up with my own distinct style THAT WILL MAKE ME PROUD AND HAPPY. But for now, this will do. This makes me happy. I'm not a hypocrite.

SOOOO... AHHHH~ time is up... I wanna say more but I really have to go. I might update this later.

I'll leave you with these. I read this somewhere, and they have a point:

"About Filipino art.... I am a natural born Filipino and I have some questions.
If I paint a "Bayanihan" scene, or a "Pahiyas Festival" scene using a style which is clearly influenced by Van Gogh....is that considered Filipino art? Will I lose my national identity, or am I degrading myself, because I interpreted my culture using a style popularized by a foreigner? Let's all be open-minded about these things. "

"You got a point there, man! Heck, Juan Luna painted the Spoliarium (tama ba spelling noon?) in a style which is distincly European plus his Subject matter was European (you know, gladiator fights and stuff) and yet we are proud to have him as a national hero! Why? Well maybe because his painting, the style and the subject matter is just skin deep and what the people really looked into was the meaning and content of his work. Just a thought."

Anyway, If I may add, I assure you guys that you don't have to worry about my characters not being Filipino enough. Ok, so I draw them the way like the Japanese did it, but really the style won't tell if they have the heart of a true blooded Filipino, like my friend (oh, I hope she don't mind calling her my friend) Van said in the comments below, (and like what I just said above) anime is just an art style. I couldn't agree more. She's right. There are other more important things to determine if a character carries the blood of a Filipino... their behavior, their culture, they way they react to things, their traditions, basically how they will live their lives. And these things, I assure you guys that you don't have to worry, because I'm making my characters live the Filipino way. Yup pinoy na pinoy kaya pwede na kayong matulog ng mahimbing, ok? hahaha. Oh... part of me actually wish that the generation today have the vast knowledge on how our great great great grandparents live in the 19th century, and that they'll be able to relate their lives in my manga, since Filipinos live their life differently now compared to before. Oh well papel. Basta, I'm going to do this my way, you guys just have to sit back, and relax.

OOOHHH~ I'm talking like I'm a very good mangaka and that I know everything and that I don't need any help. LOL. Guys, I am far from great and I actually thinks that my works are mediocre, heck I even hate my artworks sometimes, I feel that it's not enough and that I still strive to be at my best. I'm just saying these things to not let you guys worry too much about me, but I'll tell you these, I think it's safe to inform you that I know what I'm doing and there's no need to instruct me on what and what not to do. But of course, constructive criticisms are always welcome. But make sure that it is indeed constructive and not just to show me how supposedly knowledgeable you are about the thing I'm doing. Because to tell you guys honestly, I hate know-it-all people. And I know when a person is actually concern and is actually giving me helpful tips and critics and if a person is being a show off and know-it-all that likes to poke their nose into someone's business without being helpful at all. Just saying.

I feel so grateful because someone (not just her, but everyone who followed and read my very young blog) recognize what I do in this blog. I put a lot of effort in every entry and I make sure that each entry is interesting enough, although I mostly talk about my life's adventure and ramblings, I made it to the point that my readers will be filled with joy as they read my blog, because really, I tried my best to show you guys how happy life can be. Every adventure is worth telling for. That's why I'm here in blogger anyway. :)

1. The very lovely and beautiful Sofia gave me this award. She's one of the sweetest and prettiest person I met here in blogger. I'm actually a newbie here so I only made few friends which are all nice. She's one of them, and I love her blog so much. She talks about her life and always provide pretty pictures, no matter how random it is which is quiet funny. OOOHHHH... I can't stop myself talking about her and her lovely blog. AHHH~ I'm just so happy. This is my first award after all. THANK YOU~

2. Write seven random facts about myself.

• I love drinking pepsi max to the point that I can gulp down 1 litter of it a day, all by myself. There are no days in which I didn't drink this, even if it's just a small amount. And yes, I have a whole stock of these in my room. :))

• I love spicy foods. I can munch on very hot red chillis. I don't know the english name of this kind of chilli... but it's the hottest here in our country, or maybe even in the whole world. It's called "Labuyo", and I so love it. I just love the smell.

• I love anime and mangas. My fave is Ruruoni Kenshin. I'm an RRK addict, I wanna cry every time I read, watch, and just look at everything RRK. And Yamaguchirow's RRK doujinshis' are my favorite. (Yamaguchirow = pen name of the artist; Doujinshi = fanmade manga)

• I love smelling books... sniffing it sideways, while it was slightly close and every page of it is touching my nose... it is my favorite thing to do when I'm bored in class during my highschool days. Creepy, I know.

• I love Kirsten Dunst and my favorite movies of her are Interview with a Vampire, The Virgin Suicides, Marie Antoinette, Bring it On and Spiderman. I think she's a brilliant actress.

• In relation to Kirsten Dunst, I have been told many times that I look like her, LOL, I know... I cannot believe them! When I was in college, people called me kirsten which at first, I find really annoying because I get easily shy! And one time I went to a youth church and saw my sister there with her own college and church friends... and, holyshit! They call her M.J, that's Maryjane from Spiderman movie which is also Kirsten Dunst. And they saw me and told us that we both look like kirsten. I mean, it's just so... unbelievable! She's my sister and they think she looks like her and I look a lot like my sister too! I dunno... I still have doubts, because we're asians, it's just so happen that our family members are mestizos and mestizas. :)) But I have been told that I look like K.D. by a foreigner twice only. >_<

• I HATE TWILIGHT, and I'm sorry, I judge the mental capacity of anyone who reads that shit. (lol, I know I'm mean, and I'm really sorry if I offended anyone... I just have to include this. But hey, I don't care if you like twilight, just don't try to talk to me about it. That, I cannot take.)

3. BLOG NOMINATIONS: Because these people deserve this and their blog are awesome and nice! I nominate them either because I love reading their blog, because seriously, they got interesting and fun stuff there, you will never get bored. And most of them are interacting with me, they actually paid a visit and read my blog, and actually leaving lovely comments which I really really love reading... Going Japanice. Urameshi-Ya Yakiniku Japanese Restaurant @ Little Tokyo

Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of updates, but finally here it is, I took a day off from work today, mostly spent my time eating and sleeping. Me and my friends had a drinking session and wild night, and I cannot bring myself to get up early and go to work. And guys, I just wanted you to know that I read all of your entries everyday, I just cannot leave a comment 'coz I'm in the office and I'm afraid that I might get caught by my boss, I got caught once when I'm typing a comment into a certain entry and I heard words from him about it, I'm just glad that he didn't blocked blogger. But anyway, I'm not here to blog 'bout that, as I promise from my last entry, I'll tell you guys 'bout my experience in Urameshi-Ya.

Yakiniku is a Japanese dish that means 'grilled meat. This resto boast of authentic Japanese food especially prepared by Japanese chefs.

I love the presentation of the place. Outside the resto are this woods with names on it, I'm not really sure if this are really names... but I read somewhere that this design was inspired by 'funeral/cemetery' type. Its layout, are inspired by Japanese funeral customs like the use of sotoba as decos.

I love the rustic and Japanese-country-side feel of the place. The interior was really nice. It reminds me of Meiji japan. I've been very fond of that era... probably because of my obsession for the anime and manga Ruruoni Kenshin and Peace Maker Kurogane. The moment we entered and see the awesomeness inside I was itching to wear a kimono just to complete the feel. :))

This is a bar inside, yes, you can have a drink here. One small bottle of sake will do if you're alone, but it'll be more fun if you're with your friends.

I've been very fond of the Japanese culture, ever since I was a kid I've been dreaming of Japan. The first time I came to know about the world of anime, I've been fascinated about how the Japanese culture works. Every single aspect of it. The language, the name, the place, the tradition, the national clothing, the street clothing, the food.

As we enter, the waitress direct us to our respective seats. She even advice us what to order since we didn't really know, lol. And because we're a large group, (6 all in all) she told us to try their set, all of their best sellers are already included.

Look at those comfy sitting, sit ala japanese. Just look at that low table, tatami mats, and futon.

I love eating. I can eat almost anything, even exotic foods, lol. I love trying out different delicacies and food of every nation, as I call it. But alas, I'm not that rich to spend too much on food and to hop in every high end restaurant that specialize in a certain food.

I was so thrilled to see that they have this huge shelf for mangas, books and Japanese magazines. This is eye candy. But was a bit disappointed to see that the mangas are in Japanese. No translation! But it's ok because I don't like the genre of the manga... it's mostly josei and seinen.

The waitress told us to try their Wagyu TokuToku set at PHP 2,800. It's good for 4-6 persons, and all of their yakiniku best sellers are already included in here. The waitress placed 5 plates of meat in front of us, as I vaguely remember. These are different cuts of meat –beef and pork. There is also a plate for a fresh cut of liver. It also includes beef tongue which I'm so thrilled to try. But my hunger got the best out of me, I can't remember which one is the tongue. :( But I'd like to think that that's a good sign of best meat 'coz you'll not be able to be freak out by the appearance or by taste. You'll just devour everything that's in front of you.

I want to note that everything in this restaurant, all of the dishes and every ingredients that they use are from Japan.

The beef were so tender and tasty while the pork was not tough as well. I read somewhere that beef (kobi beef) from Japan is the best beef in the whole word. Because Japanese people, breed and pamper their cows especially for their meat. They massage them and made them drink beer, what a life!

Anyway... A dipping sauce is provided for the barbecues.

Oh the wonder of grilling and cooking your food right before your eyes.

Yakiniku is good along side a cup of Japanese rice,but we didn't order any 'coz we decided to order a ramen instead. We don't wanna get bloated. =))

There are different kinds of ramen but Saowie and I decided to try their Enma Ramen at PHP 250. We love eating spicy food and this is just perfect. Enma ramen comes in different degree depending on the chilliness. The waitress ask us the degree of our Enma Ramen. The usual is 5, she recommends. Higher than that are already fiery, she says, but I told her that I'm very fond of spicy food and I can even eat a whole fresh chili. Siling labuyo FTW! And she was shocked, and so I ordered degree 10. I'm expecting to feel the thrill of a very spicy ramen that I'll regret ordering it, but much to my disappointment, level 10 enma is bearable and was nothing for me. Yeah, like a boss.

We also ordered a small bottle of sake (400Php) just for the heck of it. It's the first time we're gonna try it and I'm so excited about it. I don't know what to expect from the taste. Sake is surprisingly mild and taste like beer for me. It's ok.

Pardon my tired eyes. I haven't slept the night before this event. Me and Saowie actually came all the way from Malolos, Bulacan to drink with friends. And guess what? We drank from 9PM to 6AM in the morning! LOL no sleep. yeah. We drank tequila and I end up being sleepy not because of the alcohol but because of the lack of sleep itself. Ok, I'm not surprise because as we say, I already have this iron liver in me. LIKE A BOSS.

This is very interesting. There's a shelf of sake bottles just beside the door. But all of them are already open, and has a name tag. Turns out, most of the Japanese who frequents here have their own sake bottles na. And if they end up not finishing a whole bottle, all they have to do is put a name tag on it and leave it to the shelf. They can always come back to finish it.

Classic Savory dine-out, All Time Low concert tickets, Starbucks

Last week, Monday, July 25, 2011, I decided to buy tickets for All Time Low’s Concert, and so, I told Saowie that we should meet at MOA at 6PM. Little did I know that she was with her friends and my sister. MY SISTER! So they are friends now huh? And they plan to eat dinner somewhere after we get our tickets.

I just have to have my picture taken while holding this moohlas while it’s still in my hands before it was gone like it never existed. Oh concert tickets, why are you so expensive?!

After paying and getting our tickets, we decided to take a walk and do window shopping, we dropped by at FullyBooked and believe me, it was a pain! I’m struggling so hard and trying my best to refrain from buying and splurging my money on books since I really really have to save up for travels and other important things.

And I beg them to get out of the place and eat out instead. We walk around looking for a good place to dine in, they wanted to eat at Sbarro but I’m not craving for pizzas that time and Rhein suggested that we should try to eat at Classic Savory. It’s a restaurant that offers good Filipino/Spanish dishes… I checked out their menu and there’s this soup that caught my attention, it’s called Hototai. It looks delicious and I wanna try it out so we decided to eat there. Yeah, all because of Hototai, lol, funny name. We ordered a set since there’s many of us, it’s a good way to cut expenses without cutting the quantity of food we’ll consume. The moment the food arrived before us, Sarah’s friends texted her that they’re already at the mall and will join us at dinner, and so we fetched them and lead them to the resto… YAY IT’S DINNER TIME!

After the war with our food, the boys decided to go home because they’re all “chicken” loljk. We, girls decided to chill at starbucks while exchanging stories in between sipping coffee. AHHH… life. And there are stars on the the sky that night too.

I look so tired. LOL

At around 9:30PM, we all went home ‘coz Kristelle and Jedah’s dorm have this curfew policy. :( But it’s ok, we all had fun that night.

It’s been years since I stepped on that place so I couldn’t be more glad to finally grace the place once again! We went there as a part of team building/ field trip with my friends and new acquaintances in Victory Christian Fellowship’s Lifebox FEU. I’m so happy to have new friends. They are all so nice and fun to be with. Best part is, I get to be active again in church. I may not be the nicest person around (I’m actually mean, really mean) but I value my relationship with God a lot. Anyway… here are the pictures! We try almost all of the rides!

We meet at Mcdonald’s P.Campa. We used to have dinner here (me and my two bestfriends) every Friday night when I was in college… oh nostalgia!

After that, we decided to ride the Anchor’s Away! YAY! I have an unpleasant memory riding this one as it brings this painful yet tickling sensation down my stomach when I first tried this. I don’t know weather to laugh or to vomit all over the place that time, LOL, it’s a very confusing sensation. I was sitting at the very back/ far end of the ride that long time ago, so this time, I took precaution to not seat at the very end ‘coz I’m thinking that maybe somehow, it’ll lessen that tickling sensation… I was wrong, sitting in the middle doesn’t do much, but this time, I learned something new. To avoid that tickling sensation, all I have to do is look up at the sky as we are soaring down. And I guess that sensation I hated was triggered by the sight of falling from heights. Looking up at the sky was effective and I enjoyed it! It seemed like I was flying! I love it! And call me mean or whatever, as I’m looking at the people on the opposite side I can see some of them looking like they’ll gonna vomit or something, most girls buried their faces on the person sitting next to them. It’s kinda funny. Aww… I’ll share them the secret next time. :)

After that, we decided to eat. Then we rest a bit while watching some singing and dancing performances at the food court. It’s nice. Then we decided to ride my favorite Ferrie’s Wheel! YAY! Totally awesome!

Then we went straight to Jungle Log Jam. No pictures. Aww… I cannot take pictures because the ride’s in water. Too chicken to risk my camera getting wet. But that ride was fun and scary. Miss it so much!

We’re so wet after riding that one! Urgh. And so we decided to ride the Realto since we’re already wet, getting soaked was not a problem anymore… or is it? No pictures again! HAHA.

Then we went straight to Flying Fiesta! YAY~

After that we changed shirts because we are really soaking wet! Too bad I didn’t bring any lower garments with me, but it’s ok.

AND THE TIME COMES… We headed straight to the ever famous roller coaster. SPACE SHUTTLE FTW. Hardest and scariest part of it? Waiting in line, and as you were waiting, you’ll hear the screeching noise of the roller coaster as it speed up and down the loop. And I told my friends “That’s the sound of death.” Seriously! I got really scared! Well, I’m actually afraid of the aspect of having to ride the space shuttle as it slowly goes up the slope as it’s preparing for the momentum of going down as fast as it can. Yikes. I hate that tickling sensation it gives down my stomach. But yeah, after I passed that stage, I’m actually enjoying it! I didn’t even close my eyes! I love it! I actually have a picture while we’re soaring down, lol, and I’m smiling! HAHAHA. I’ll have it scan next time.

After that fun fun ride, Sarah got hungry and so I accompany her to the foordcourt to buy hotdog on stick... there I saw this handsome guy performing. He looks so much lie Gu Jun Pyo from the koreanovela "Boys over flowers". I was so "kilig" when he turn to look at me while I'm taking his photos. :">

By night fall… Saowie’s dad pick us up so we didn’t go home with our friends anymore. But it’s ok. It’s way more convenient. Here’s some night time pics.

My Wonderland of Printed Word.

In relation with the dilemma of the ending of my favorite franchise *coungharrypottercough* and the scarcity of new books in my shelf, I decided to buy new ones, as well as re-buy an old book for a new and shiny hardbound copy *coughhungergamescough*.

Of course, my favorite bookstore in the country never fails to respond for the demand of this craving bookworm. Their shelves are made up of wonders. Hello Fullybooked.

The happy me looking for more! But at this point, I’ve decided that, yes, I’m gonna buy those two books that were already in my hands.

And I ended up buying this two. Yes, I’ll move on from being a Potterhead to being a Tribute. Tribute, that’s what they call us, fans of the The Hunger Games Trilogy. I’m still a potterhead, I will always, and forever be, but at this rate, I have to focus on my new addiction. Nothing will ever beat Harry Potter, but I’ve gotta admit, Suzanne Collins is another genius who can pull off a very good story that leaves me hanging on my seat and craving for more.

I also bought Haruki Murakami’s “Dance Dance Dance”, a sequel to his “A Wild Sheep Chase” I decided to collect most of his title. I love his unique, bitter sweet stories, and I wonder how can he manage to pull of something so sublime yet never fails to enable the readers to connect to his world.

I went on looking for The Hunger Game’s sequel, Catching Fire, but unfortunately it was out of stock, but luckily, the cashier told us that we can order titles that aren’t on their shelves and they’ll contact us asap if our books have arrived. So I happily ordered a hardbound copy of Catching Fire, and I also decided to order The Perks of Being of Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I wanted a hardbound copy of it, but the cashier told us that the publisher don’t publish any hardbound copy of the book anymore. So I ordered the softbound one instead. And last Sunday, we went again to their store to pick it up. YAYAYAYYYY~ So happy. <3

Catching Fire!!! Atlast! I haven’t read it yet, I remember when the book came out last two years(?) I really really want to buy it, but I don’t have any money that time, and when I have the money, all of the bookstore didn’t have any copy at all. It’s sold out, and I just let it pass and eventually forgot about it until Mockingjay came up, another sequel, and I refuse to buy it even though I have money for it, because I’m still bitter by the fact that I don’t have a copy of Catching Fire, and I’m so stubborn I don’t wanna read it online! And last March, Saowie bought home a hardbound copy of Mockingjay. I’m so happy but I wasn’t able to read it because I have yet to read catching fire first, so my Mockingjay is still sealed for nearly 5 months now. This is why I’m so happy to finally have Catching Fire in hands, because I’ll be able to finally read it, and my Mockingjay will be out of shelf in no time, at last!

My Harry Potter Treasure: A Somewhat Personal Post

This post is a tribute to my HP stuff that I happily spent my time and money on for the past years. But some of these are given by the most special people in my life, most of all, these are sentimental things. Each and everyone of them has its background story.

I have all of the HP titles in hardbound, and also in soft bound. I don’t care if the content are the same, I just gotta have a hardbound copy. Plus, I have my reasons. When I was in highschool, I have friends who wanna read HP, but sadly their parents won’t buy them books so they borrowed mine, that time, all of my HP books are softbounds, I hate to say this, but the moment they returned the books from me, the covers are a bit crippled at the sides. Plastic covers won’t do much at the rate of people who kept on borrowing my books. But I want them to read it and share the joy of the magical world so I let them have my books. That’s when I decided that I should also have a hardbound copy, just for myself. No one can read it but me. Another reason why I like having a hardbound copy of the book is that, I tend to read the books over and over again. I carry them anywhere, thus I have to have a strong copy of the books. Another thing is, my hands are sweaty. Yep, I’m extremely “pasma”. Hardbound books are sweat tolerant and that’s the best thing about it. XD

The 7th and last book is extra special. This is the very first HP gift I received from Saowie. It’s her birthday gift to me. She’s a very special girl to me, and the fact that she has given me one of my most desired things in the world made this even more special.

My favorite. The round glasses. It’s not actually an HP merchandise. No. It’s better than that. This one is vintage. My uncle owned it. I never knew/saw that uncle of mine, he passed away at a very young age, just merely 21. My youngest sister gave this to me few years ago after my granpa dies. Mom and her was keeping away my granny’s things when they saw this inside his drawer, together with his own things. He kept his youngest son’s glasses as a reminder of him. I found this so amazing that he wore the same glass like Harry’s. Take note, this eyeglasses are a bit small, actually, even too small for me, indicating that he wore this as a child. And I saw his pictures, he’s a very handsome guy. I bet he’s a cute child too, just like Harry (well, that’s Dan Rad, ok). And my dad told us that he’s the kindest among all of them. His name is Russell.

Another sentimental HP-related stuff I have. Again, this is not an officially HP merchandise or one of those commercialize wands out there because this is better than that. This is given to me by the boy who means so much to me, he’s my first love, (lol, but I never admit it to him even though we bought know how I feel about him. hahaha, and he also didn’t bring that up for us to talk about, so I was left there just admiring him, ohwell, we’re not here to talk about that) he is also one of my bestfriend… and most specially, he took the responsibility of an elder brother, I actually call him “kuya” (ouch!). He gave me this, he’s a Harry Potter fanatic too, and I actually think that he’s more of a fan than I am. We both have the same type. This one is from London, a friend have this shipped to him. This is handmade from the wood called “Holly”, the very same wood that Harry’s wand is made of. So awesome. I cannot believe it. He opted to give me a wand just like Hermione’s (or so he says), but something happened, it didn’t came. So he gave me this, this wand was planned to be curved and have the same design exactly like Harry’s but circumstances won’t let us do so… so it stays this way for years now. Another thing… the boy who gave me this to me, he’s the reason why I’ve become a Harry Potter fanatic, but I doubt he knows that, I didn’t tell him. Where is he now? Somewhere where I can’t reach him.

These three books are from Saowie. How lucky I am to have her? She supports my obsession and that’s one of the many things I like about her. I am so thrilled to have these three, complete, in my hands. She gave me the Tales of Beedle the Bard two years earlier than the other two, as a Christmas gift, and I felt that I was the happiest girl in the world that Christmas eve. And then I wished that I could also have the other two remaining books… but we can’t find the two books in any books store here in Manila, and I kinda forgot about it and let it passed… until earlier this year… she surprised me with these last two books! I swear I could die of sudden happiness. I mean, she was late that night and I was kinda worried, where have she been? It made me angry too, very much angry. But when she came she hand me this and I jumped for joy! All of the anger that’s left in me drained out of my system. What a memorable night.

These are my VCD’s of HP. At that time, the other movies haven’t came out in VCD and DVD yet. I bought these three out of what’s left in my allowance. I saved for days. I cannot afford DVD that time, so the poor me opted for these instead. And ohhh… the moment HP4 came out in DVD, I bought it immediately, and now that I mentioned it, wtf, I didn’t get to include it in this photos!!! shame.

These are the collector’s edition dvds of HP. These are from Saowie… yet again. See? How lucky am I to have this girl who support my addiction, even though she spent a lot in it. These are 1k each! And she gave me four of them last Christmas! She even opted to give me all of the six movies but sadly the other two haven’t came out yet in collector’s edition. These DVDs are packed with an extra cd that featrues the making of the movie, interviews, behind the scenes, special effects, the composition and making of the music, the trio’s audition and a lot more! :)

These two cuties are also from Saowie. I named them wormtail and errol. But I call wormtail “ren”, because Saowie’s real name is Saren. HAHA, it’s a tribute, I guess.

Notice the scarf underneath it all? I had it custom-made one rainy night. Rain didn’t stop me to went to the tailor along the dangerous and busy street of Recto. I gotta have that scarf.

Also, notice that book on the far right side? That’s made of wood. My uncle curved it for me. The design is an exact replica of Hermione’s book shown in Chamber of Secrets, and surprisingly, that same book made an appearance for the second time in Goblet of Fire. :)

These books… made a huge impact in my life.

Goodbye good friend: My Last Potter Experience

My day last July 14, 2011, Thursday, was too painful to talk and blog about, so I decided to leave it alone and let my sadness vent for awhile. That was the day I both anticipate and dread. It was my last Potter experience.

I reserved tickets for Harry Potter DH part 2 two weeks before the showing at imax, we chose the midnight screening schedule starting at 10:30PM and will end at 1am in the morning, we have other commitments during the day that’s why we have to wait ‘til we’re free, I don’t mind staying up late outside for this, especially this, I have to watch it on the first day. It’s a must.

I arrived at MOA at around 6pm. Too early, I know, but it’s ok, I have to wait for Saowie to arrived from school. The moment we’re together, we decided to eat first, it’s necessary because I’m feeling dizzy and weak, it must be the intense emotions I’m feeling. We have to toughen up. We can’t do anything about my weak emotional stability but at least we have to do something about the physical aspect. Eat our heart out.

We dropped by at FullyBooked after that. I’m desperate to find new books to ravage. I have to move on. I decided to buy Murakami’s work… Anyway, I’ll post a separate blog about it.

At around 9:30PM we’re inside the IMAX’s lobby. There’s a Harry Potter Gallery. Everything was Harry Potter and it’s hurts. I don’t know why I’m like this, instead of celebrating and being happy, I’m hurting. There are lots of people, some are even in costume.

Anyway… here are the photos.

The moment we’re inside the cinema… I became too silent. Even Saowie felt a little bit uncomfortable because I’m being weird. I actually warned her of what’s coming, but she can’t help to be weird-ed out, I guess. I’m too much to handle. I sit there, not moving, my eyes were fixed on the large screen in front of us… in about 30mins, the end of my childhood will officially begin. And the phrase “This is the last time” kept ringing on my ear. And everyone irritates the hell out of me. The giggling of the girl on our line, the gay dude beside me, the couple on our left, the guy who kept on looking at me (probably because I look like I’m about to rip someone’s throat) everyone! WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY BEING TOO HAPPY ABOUT?! They can’t be too happy about this. Dafuq.

And I heard the gay dude beside me… “What the name of the crazy girl again? The one who have this weird curly hair?” and I was like… “WHAT THE FUCK? That’s Bellatrix Fucking Lestrange you’re talking about! How in the name of merlin can you forget that?! THIS IS HP WE’RE TALKING ABOUT! How come some people in here don’t even know every character’s damn name?!” but of course I kept that comment to my self. Ugh, I’m just too irritated. I don’t want this to end, so I guess, there are stages for me to overcome. The stage of being in denial, check. The stage of depression, check. and now, anger, check. Acceptance have to wait.

The moment WB logo came up the screen my emotions burst. I-FUCKING-CRIED. That’s right dude. Crying because the logo came up is not a theory, it’s proven. I JUST CAN’T HANDLE EVERYTHING RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT. I was shaking, Saowie held my hand and kept on asking me if I was ok. Of course I’m not. But I keep calm and carry on. But then again… the name “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” came up and I cried again! What’s wrong with me?! This is too much. And i felt the gay dude on my right turn his head on me. He must be thinking that I’m a crazy girl. Too lunatic. I can’t even hold my self together.

I tried my best to focus on the screen. I value every lines that came out in every actor’s lips. Every acting they give. I let my self drown in magic once again… for the last time. And for a moment, I felt I was there, with them. I felt the adrenalin rush, the stress, the anger, the fear, the pain… the sorrow… I was there with them. It felt like dreaming. Every time any of the good guys defeat the bad guys, I applause, and everyone in the cinema does too. There are funny moments too. I laughed with them, even though there are tears in my eyes. And every time the screen showed the people I have come to love… dead, I gasped and a rush of pain presses on my chest.

It ended. I cried. I stayed inside the cinema, watching the screen as the credits rolls up. I tried to read every word… I appreciate everyone behind this wonderful movie. From the actors, directors, and producers, to make up artist, sound effects and props men. Everyone of them… i’m so grateful.

This is the last time. But I have to move on. I can’t say goodbye to Harry, Ron and Hermione like this, being grumpy and too bitter. I have to be happy.

P.S.

So, wanna know what I look like even before entering the theater to watch Harry Potter? Basically… THIS. Crying my heart out at the bathroom. This is not staged, Saowie found my miserable soon to be non-harry potter life to be so hilarious she took a snap of photo… well… make that photoS.

I maybe over-reacting at first… but really, I shed tears. Lots of it. I hurts so bad.

I've been drawing and making sketches out of plain bond paper lately. Nothing too special, but the result left me satisfied. I never expect that this little pieces will turn into one of my favorite artworks. I usually work without a solid theme in mind as this was actually just doodles turned out really nice, and when I come up with a theme in the process, my hands voluntarily leads the lines into it. This drawings gives that impression of quaint, dreamlike atmosphere that runs through every girls mind. What do you think of them? I'm thinking of having this kind of theme painted in canvass for more serious artworks, should I?

Dear You,

How does someone pull a good impression by introducing herself? I have introduced myself for so many times now and I'm still not sure if anyone read the whole paragraph that I put up in many of my websites, still, I tried.

Hello. My name is Rayshi Macapagal. I make art for a living. Ever since I was young I knew what I wanted in life. To be an artist. My life revolves around it and memories of my childhood are filled with dreams that I happily ploted in my sketchbooks.

I love reading. I spent my free time reading books, if not making art. The smell of new and old books wakes my senses and every word in it leads me to drift away inside its own world.

I love eating. Tasting new cuisine and hopping into an unfamiliar place that serves good food to satisfy my taste buds has been one of my activities these past few years.

I listen to music a lot. Classical ones never fails to leave an impression. What am I expecting? That's why they are called classics. I've been listening to a lot of bands, bands of different genre but most of them are rock, as well as bands and singer who are giving life to indie rock.

I love to see the world. Saving up to travel in different countries and embrace their culture have been my motivation to work and save up lately. Our world is beautiful, it is sublime.

And I always make sure to capture the wonderful place we live in. I take photos. Lots of photos, to remind me that despite the fact that our world can be cruel and bits of humanity has lost its sanity, it is still a place worth living, you just have to find the beauty that lies in it.

I'm trying to love all of the people around me. Trying to know the strangers of the world, that's why I'm here. I love reading other people's blog and whenever I do I feel that life is beautiful. These people shares the beauty of their life; their interests which keep them sane; their adventures and how happy it is to be alive. I hope to do the same as well. I'm not as good with words like them, but I wanted to share my life too. I've been blogging in tumblr, I rarely do reblogs there 'coz I like my blog to be personal, and I put a lot of effort to share them what I've been up to with my life, but I finally feel the need to be here, that's not the right place to be in if I wanted good readers. This is the place for me, for people who also loves reading original stuff and actually take time to be in the same adventure as you as they read your blog.

I wanted to have friends here. Help me gain more and let us share each other's passion.
